Meet this year's Transforming Lives Awards Recipients!

CAMH’s Transforming Lives Awards is an important fundraising and awareness event that honours extraordinary people who are courageously living with mental illness and/or addiction, and who now serve as models of hope and inspiration to others.

On Wednesday, May 26, 2010, for the first time in the 16 years of the event, the Transforming Lives Awards were held onsite at 1001 Queen Street West, bringing the celebration home to CAMH and the heart of the bubbling Queen West neighbourhood.

This year’s event was a huge success! The response from the community was tremendous and we are pleased to report that 850 guests attended and over $800,000 was raised. Money raised from this event will help support CAMH’s Queen Street Redevelopment. A big thank you to everyone who attended this event.

Under an elegant white tent next to CAMH’s historic 'asylum wall', guests enjoyed delicious mocktails and a unique culinary experience. Upon request, mocktail recipes are now available online.

As always, the highlight of the night was our five remarkable recipients, who delivered inspiring speeches recounting their experiences.  By telling their compelling stories, each helped to shed light on mental illness and addictions and reduce stigma.
