On Wednesday, May 26, 2010, for the first time in the 16 years of the event, Transforming Lives Awards will take place at 1001 Queen Street West, bringing the celebration home to CAMH and the heart of the bubbling Queen West neighbourhood.

The CAMH Transforming Lives Awards is an important fundraising and awareness event that honours extraordinary people who have overcome the challenges of living with mental illness and/or addiction, and who now serve as models of hope and inspiration to others.

We believe holding the event on site-next to CAMH's historic "asylum wall" and equally historic Redevelopment will be an experiential opportunity for all our guests.

Alcohol will not be served since CAMH is a dry site and as these awards are meant to honour and support those who have overcome an addiction and/or mental illness.  Instead you will not only enjoy a unique culinary experience, but appetizing "mocktails" as well.

Each year, nominations are brought forth from across the province and country. Each nomination tells a different, compelling story, which sheds light on mental illness and addiction and helps to eliminate harmful stigma.
